I have been a scientist and executive in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.  I worked as a bench scientist at Glaxo SmithKline and then a at Johnson & Johnson, ultimately serving on the board of the RW Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute.  My Biotech experience has been focused on three main areas:  women’s health developing new contraceptive products; dermatology developing a novel treatment for rosacea; and rare pediatric skin diseases caused by vascular anomalies. 

I am currently the chairman of a startup biotech company developing a novel treatment for infantile hemangiomas – a type of vascular tumor affecting neonatals.

I have been active in numerous scientific societies including having served as the Chairman of the Analytical Chemistry Division of the American Chemical Society, an adjunct professor of chemistry at the University of Kansas, and have authored peer reviewed scientific publications as well as being an inventor on numerous US and international patents.
